Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba tested positive after a Serie A match in August 2023 and was provisionally suspended by Italy's anti-doping tribunal. The tribunal imposed a four-year ban in February 2024 for the substance DHEA, which the Court of Arbitration for Sport cut to 18 months in October 2024 after finding the ingestion unintentional. Juventus and Pogba agreed to end his contract, and he returned with AS Monaco in 2025 before he and the club agreed in August 2026 to end that contract early.

The doping case is closed: CAS confirmed the anti-doping rule violation and the 18 month ban, which has been served. Pogba has been without a club since he and Monaco agreed by mutual consent on 19 August 2026 to end his contract early, and no new club was confirmed in sources reviewed.
NADO Italia's tribunal accepted the national anti-doping prosecutor's request for a provisional suspension, saying the sample contained non-endogenous testosterone metabolites, Reuters reported. Juventus said it was evaluating next steps. His later ban was counted from this date.

Reuters reported that Sky Sports and the ANSA news agency said, without citing a source, that a counter-analysis of a second sample was also positive. NADO Italia and Juventus declined to comment. Reuters later reported in February 2024 that the October counter-analysis had confirmed the result.
Italy's National Anti-Doping Tribunal found an anti-doping rule violation for DHEA and imposed a four-year ban and a EUR 5,000 fine, according to the CAS statement as reported by Football Italia. Reuters reported the ban the following day.

In a statement dated 7 October 2024, CAS said it confirmed the violation but reduced the ban to 18 months and cancelled the fine, finding that Pogba's ingestion of DHEA was not intentional and came from a supplement prescribed by a medical doctor in Florida, after he had been given assurances the doctor was knowledgeable. It said a professional player should have taken greater care. NADO Italia had argued for four years and Pogba for 12 months.
