Image rights and copyright concerns

We write our own summaries and link to the records supporting them. A source being public or official does not automatically make its photographs or text free to copy.

How we handle photographs

We verify individual Wikimedia Commons file pages, rather than assuming any image on Wikipedia is reusable. Our rights register records the creator, original file URL, source page, exact licence link, verification date and display edits. Images without approved records are withheld. A licence does not imply endorsement by the person depicted.

Where a licence requires attribution or share-alike conditions, those conditions apply to the relevant reused material. Before reusing a photograph from this site, follow its original file and licence links. A licence for our text or graphics does not replace the photograph's licence.

Report a copyright concern

Email corrections@howitunfolded.com with the page URL, the specific image or text, the original work or rights information, your relationship to the rights holder and a way to contact you. Do not send identity documents or unrelated private information.

We review the identified material and its provenance. We may temporarily withhold an asset while checking a concern, then correct the credit, replace the asset, remove it or explain our decision based on the evidence. Copyright concerns are considered separately from factual corrections and requests for a response.
